L'immagine mostra una rara e splendida mappa celebrativa dell'Unità d'Italia del 1861, intitolata "Panorama Italiano". La mappa è stata stampata a Milano dalla Litografia Ronchi per conto della Società Editrice dell'Emilia. È un'originale rappresentazione prospettica dell'Italia, che si estende da nord a sud. La rappresentazione è circondata da ritratti di figure storiche, stemmi di città e illustrazioni di monumenti e costumi dell'epoca. Fu realizzata in occasione della proclamazione di Vittorio Emanuele II a Re d'Italia, avvenuta a Torino il 17 marzo 1861.
